lama sudah tak mendengar karya Avril Lavigne. salah satu penyanyi favoritku. selain kabar album barunya yang di rencanakan akan rilis awal tahun 2013 mendatang.. dan akhirnya 6 november 2012 lalu avril mengumumkan melalui akun twitternya, bahawa dia akan rekaman lagu barunya HOW YOU REMIND ME untuk soundtrack One Piece Film Z movie di Japan! dan perilisannya tanggal 15 desember 2012. YAY!!
Saat diminta untuk mengisi soundtrack fiilm anime One Piece Z, Avril Lavigne berniat untuk menulis lagu baru, akan tetapi karena kesibukannya merekam materi untuk album terbarunya yang akan rilis 2013 mendatang. akhirnya sang tunangan, Chad Kroeger menawarkan untuk merekam ulang lagu milik Nickelback, How You Remind Me. so, jadilah versi minimalis dan sadcore dari lagu rock tersebut. Tetap memiliki semangat lagu aslinya, akan tetapi sekarang terdengar sangat Avril banget!
